Ureflex® Percutaneous Drainage Catheters

Ureflex® and Ureflex-Soft All UreSil catheters are made from Ureflex - a specially formulated biocompatible material developed by our engineers. Ureflex catheters are soft and flexible, kink and accordion resistant, and fully radiopaque. For greater patient comfort, Ureflex-Soft is now available.

Hydrophilic Coating Additionally, all catheters are available with UreSil's proprietary Tru-Slide+™ Hydrophilic-Coated surface. The Tru-Slide+ is an extremely slippery hydrophilic coating applied to the distal end of the catheter which facilitates introduction and maneuvering through tough tissues and tortuous paths.

Tru-Close® Thoracic Vent for Pneumothroax

One of UreSil's most significant achievements has been the development of the TRU-CLOSE Thoracic Vent for the treatment of simple pneumothorax. This device is a small, self-contained unit that attaches firmly to the patient. The Thoracic Vent utilizes a soft, kink-resistant catheter and a signal diaphragm to facilitate insertion and monitor the pneumothorax. It also includes an anti-reflux valve and a hydrophobic filter.

The TRU-CLOSE Thoracic Vent is an alternative to the discomfort and inconvenience of tube thoracostomy. Insertion is facilitated by a red signal diaphragm sensitive to pressure change. The Thoracic Vent does not require connection to cumbersome peripheral devices, thereby allowing the patient to remain ambulatory. Selected patients may be treated on an out-patient basis, thereby shortening length of hospital stay.

Tru-Close Suction Drainage Systems

UreSil's TRU-CLOSE Suction Drainage System creatively utilizes dual anti-reflux valves, minimizing retrograde and cross-contamination for both patient and medical personnel. The entire system can be disposed of safely.
